WHAT IS GBS LETTERS & NUMBERS?
GROW BRAINS Letters & Numbers is designed to facilitate learning in 9 critical areas: speech & language, writing, mathematics, social skills, motor skills, pattern recognition, vocabulary development, spelling & critical thinking. This revolutionary platform is designed to provide a lifetime of high-quality educational enlightenment and can accommodate all subjects & languages. Students are encouraged to incorporate art projects into their academic interests by using the dry erase white board and the markers.

Start with the laminated word puzzle exercises. Complete the color-coded side first using the dry erase white board markers. The reverse side is black and white which is more difficult. You can let your student refer to the color-coded side for reference, but only once or twice. The word puzzles enforce vocabulary, teach pattern recognition, spelling and vocabulary are incredibly helpful. They erase easily and can be used for years & enhance fine motor skills.

It is beneficial to mix up both the letters and the numbers and have the student arrange them in the correct order. This is an excellent warm up exercise and reinforces letter recognition & patterns.

There are 3 blank dry erase white board squares that are included (total of 6) with each individual letters and numbers system. This allows for an unlimited number of math, spelling and punctuation possibilities. EXAMPLE: students will create CAPITAL letters, punctuation and additional letters needed for spelling an unlimited number of words.

It has been my pleasure to work with special needs students and their parents for the last 20 years. They inspired me to start a Special Olympics program. They inspired me to install a full kitchen in my classroom and to get a rooster and 6 hens along with frogs, a turtle a beautiful tarantula (Annabel) and Ricky & Lucy (scorpions). They inspired me to create the most eclectic learning system that I have ever seen. This collaboration (students, parents & me) has convinced me that parents instinctively know the unlimited capabilities of their children. GROW BRAINS was created to help their children learn. GBS is based on current peer reviewed cognitive science and has been Beta tested in Special Education classrooms for twenty years. It has been used to teach Special Needs children, typical children and senior citizens with cognitive challenges. The benefits from learning with GBS are measurable and profound. My students and I believe that GROW BRAINS will make this adventure easier and certainly more meaningful.
